Talent Wasted

Every coach of young men and woman should point to the tragedy surrounding Chris Henry as a lesson for all young athletes. The message is pretty simple in this case. In doesn't matter how much talent you have, if you make bad choices in life it usually leads to bad things.

It's sad what happened to Chris Henry, especially if it's true he was turning his life around. But in the end, it's clear he was still making the wrong choices and this time it cost him his life - a real tragedy.

Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows!

Its ironic while he gets heat from his own party, the President found support for his speech accepting the Nobel Peace Prize from the the most unlikely source - former Speaker and Contract for America author, Newt Gingrich. The Speaker was quoted as saying, "I think having a liberal President who goes to Oslo on behalf of a peace prize and reminds the committee that they would not be free, they wouldn't be able to have a peace prize without have [the ability to use] force. I thought in some ways it's a very historic speech".

Now only if the Speaker could muster the courage to speech candidly about Health Reform and Global Warming.

A Happy Birthday

It was theMan's Birthday today, which usually mean a day of erratic behavior and this year proved to be no different. After another rough day at work, shopping for his gift and getting his favorite flowers, I returned home to a man already off the wall. Unfortunately, I had little strength to deal with his angst and figured a dinner out would help. And it did, even though he got drunk (the right of all birthday babies I believe) and was obnoxious at times.

In the end, it turned out to be a good night because he had a good time on his birthday. And isn't that what Birthday's are about? To enjoy your "day", accept any and all gifts and act like a fool if you chose too once a year. Happy Birthday, theMan, may the years ahead provide you even more time to make an ass out of yourself. I love you.

Life's a Blur

After months of deliberation, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded mine and theMan's phone. Sorry, Apple, but I'm not a fanatical follower and passed on the IPhone. To me Apple has been more about brand name and status than actually product quality. Cute designs and cool gadgets don't cover up programming deficiencies.

Instead, I opted for the Motorola Clig with Blur and can honestly say I'm pretty satisfied. With Google's Android and other web based applications, I can do pretty much what I want while on the road. Including the ability to check all my messages - phone, email and social sites updates - with just one touch. Gotta love it. Check the phone out at
