Tedy, the other Patriot

Kind of wierd how this weekend we put Teddy to rest, while another local favorite who happens to be named Tedy, retires after 13 seasons and 3 Super Bowl Rings with the New England Patriots. Under-rated, hard working and instinctive, Tedy defied all odds, even a stroke, to become the best he could be.

His leadership and good lucks will be sorely missed.

Goodnight, Teddy

If you are gay, a college student, a person with a disabilities, a laborer, a senior citizion or just plain poor, you lost a true champion today. Despite all his failings, Senator Edward Kennedy will be missed by many. His death symbolizes an end of an era where those we elected actually cared not only about the people they represented but their country as well. To someone like Teddy, it was more about how can we make this work, not about how can we stop this. In the end, the Last Great Lion, was a perfect example of the true American spirit - flaws and all.

Good Night, Teddy, you can finally rest.

Sad Fall From Grace

How quickly things can change, even for the rich and famous? A year ago, Chris Brown was one of the hottest stars around, had his own commercials and was dating one of the hottest RB singers around. Today, he was sentenced to five years probation, six months of community services and an ordered to stay away from Rihanna for the at least 5 years for his assault on her earlier this year. Already dropped by one major sponsor along with being the unfavorable target of the gossip industry, CB's image has taken a major hit. In the end, I can only think about how tragic it is - because they probably do love each other very much. But in reality, I think of one of my favorite quotes.

"Never forget what a man says to you when he is angry" by Henry Ward Beecher, a American clergy man from the 19th Century, who ironically was brought to trial to answer charges of adultery of all things - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Beecher

Is it Over Already?

The only good thing about the end of summer is the beginning of football season.

Today's hunk, Larry Fitzgerald, from the Arizona Cardinals, is brought to you by the issue of this month's, Men's Fitness Magazine. Check it him out at http://www.mensfitness.com/

5 Star Health Care

When it comes to health insurance, how would you like this plan? A program which offers you a handful of different health plans to chose from, which also covers your spouse and dependents with no waiting period or threat of being denied coverage due to pre-conditions. You also get access to your own doctor's office at work along with your own pharmacy. All for a fraction of what most American's pay for health insurance thanks to tax payer subsidies.

Sounds too good to be true? It's not. It's what every Senator and Representative gets the day they are sworn into office. No wonder why they see no need to talk seriously about health care reform. Its not about the 40 to 50 million without health insurance. Its about those who already have it and don't want their free ride to end.

Hang In There!

And I thought I was having a bad morning at the office when I turned and looked out my window to see this!

Not exactly how one wants to start their morning - hanging on for your life 37 floors up!
